A Scent to Truly Love

The story of my parents meeting is a very interesting one. It wasn't a love from the first sight, it was a hate from the first breath in. I'm an adult, but nevertheless I love to listen and to tell this story to somebody, especially to my little children.

When my mother was a little girl, she lived with her uncle Alex and aunt Jane. Uncle Alex was a very strict and dried-up man. My mother and he had never talked. He only scolded my mother if she did something wrong. My mother didn't like him. Uncle Alex used a very strange men's cologne. It had a poignant smell. It was his favorite scent and may be that is why my mother hates this smell from her childhood. Once she even threw away the bottle of uncle's cologne from their house that not to smell it.

One day when my mother had grown up, she went to the wedding of her friend Monika, who lived on the other side of the country. When she boarded an airplane and took her place she smelled a very disgusting scent. She couldn't understand what exactly it was, but this scent reminded her childhood. It was the same cologne which used her uncle Alex. She looked around, but there weren't people who could look like a man who use such cologne. But the next place with her was empty, but there was somebody's stuff. Finally she got it. It was her neighbor. She pretended him like an old and grey - haired man whom she didn't like already. But she was mistaken. On the next moment a young and rather handsome man took this place. She was very surprised. She couldn't even think that such men use such perfume. First her thoughts were that this guy has a very nasty taste. She wanted to change her place, but unfortunately there weren't any vacant places in the airplane. And she had to stand this scent during all this time. But that man couldn't understand what the problem was, why this beautiful lady wanted takes another place, far from him. When the plane landed, she decided to open his eyes on his scent and she said that he has a disgusting perfume. She said it; because she was sure she would never meet this guy again. Of course, it was very offensive to him to hear such words. And in response he said that she had a bad style. So, they exchanged civilities and parted company with each other. But when my mother got her friend's house she saw this guy again. As it found out, it was Monika's cousin who came to the wedding too. But there was another surprise, Monika invited them both that to acquaint with each other. But as people say, there is a thin line between love and hate. And in two years my parents got married. And now only my mother chooses the colognes for my father=men's type.
